What makes a myth a myth?

I’ve been asking around for about a year now, there are so many ideas people have of myths. Share your thoughts on what defines myths, what separates myths from other art, and more.

I say myths are more like story’s which are a form off art.

I think a myth is a form of a screenplay.

People write stories, develop a visual representation and manifestation of their story, then act it out, like a screenplay for a movie, only it’s more immersive because the viewers are actually playing characters in the story.

It’s important to consider the characters role in a myth because thats the point of a myth- as a myth you play a character, and the player plays a character, you both need important roles. A good myth knows to utilize interactives in their game to amplify this aspect and make it more engaging.

The player and the owner(s) of the myth act out the story through one-on-one interaction, relying on that interaction to advance the plot, which is what makes myths special. In a way its like a story game, but it’s not because the conversation isn’t limited to the confines of code- its a real person on the other end of the screen guiding the player through the story, and it requires actual thought, creativity, and engagement to progress through that story. Because of that it makes it more engaging, interesting, and understandable.

A screenplay is a type of story, usualy a screenplay is the writing for a movie or TV show, its the same thing as a story though. I used that word specificalyl just because myths have a visual map associated with their story like movies.
